Danza de los Viejitos

The Danza de los Viejitos (dance of the old men) is a dance in the state of Michoacan, Mexico. I took these images when I visited my grandparents in the beautiful city of Morelia, Michoacan. The Danza de los Viejitos is a light hearted dance where the dancers wear masks of old people along with their campesino clothing. The Viejitos start the dance as old men, aching and hunched over with minimal movements. These movements turn into dancing combined with trembling and falling over by the "old men".
