Antiques of the Future

Lisa S. Roberts has been a collector of things purchased from stores, websites, catalogs to be included in her collection 'Antiques of the Future.'
But only notable 'things' that have won design awards and/or designed by famous product designers/architects, and/or made stupendous marketing success, and the likes will make this list.

After 25 years and over 300 purchases later she has written a book by the same name describing how "anyone could have a museum-quality collection."

Disorder of the Decade!

HOARDING STUFF! Lots of stuff! Electronics, clothes, just junk! And tons of it! Vancouver is currently ridden with a hoarding problem, and a BIG BAD BED BUG problem! Too many people just wanna keep as many things in their rooms AS POSSIBLE! Especially electronics.... Psychologists believe hoarders have an inability to "let things go" because they lost so much in their past - so they collect and keep everything they can get their grubby hands on! Maybe they'll use it later, may not, but at least they have it!

Mc Donalds items

David Bracken's wife said it was "too much" to hang a 9-foot-by-4-foot McDonald's sign, retired from a Lower Burrell restaurant on a wall of their home. This Pennsylvanian man is the vice president of his collector's club and currently holds more than 9000 McDonald's items in his extensive hoard of McToys. Woah!! He says "Everyone either eats at McDonald's or lives near one" and therefore can find value in his collection - which, is so impressive Ronald McDonald himself paid him a visit last month!

boxes, cups, trays, ...

This big collection belongs to an old man who has lived alone for his whole life. What makes this collection special, is the fact that he uses all these old things in his everyday life.
So if you go visit this man, you will have your tea served in a 100 year old cup.
