transport - #81

Seventy9

The bus may be public transport, but passengers occupy private worlds. Personal space is habitually maintained, and interaction is often non-existent, at other times minimal and purely functional. In this enclosed space, breaching the barrier of another passenger's private world creates a higher sense of tension than it otherwise might. This photographic project documents the private worlds of passengers on the number 79 bus. Sometimes, the boundary of the subject's private space is crossed, and these images are further informative for the subject's response.

Hong Kong Tramway

Hong Kong is a fast-paced city with a convenient traffic network. Still, the slowest tramway system is operating in this crowded region. Trams have existed in Hong Kong for about 100 years. The value of its existence is mainly for tourist attraction and for the so-called "collective memory" to the local people. It is the only exclusively double-decker operated tram system in the world. Most trams are now covered with overall advertising livery.

NMBS

Forced by climate change and oil resource exhaustion, what in the 19th Century was an invention that changed everyday life is today a well known mean of transport that most European countries are promoting against air pollution.

I focused on the spectacle of corridors, rooms, reallocated buildings, workspaces services. An aesthetic archive of the architectural heritage owned by the Belgium railway company.
Their areas keep being changed as a result of new technologies.

Lamb traffic

During the Eid celebrations in Morocco any mean of transport is valid to get your lamb home...

Building a boat in Alaska

We live in Bethel, Alaska and are building a wooden skiff in a friend's shop across town. We don't have a car, but we have a bike, a trailer, and an Alaskan mushing dog. That's all we need. Everyone's happy.

Coco Taxi

The low consumption "Coco Taxi" (coconut taxi) are very popular in La Habana,  where the price of gas is extremely high beacause of the trade embrago.
