Shipping Seafood to a Fishing Village

Lei Yue Mun is a 150 years old fishing village in Hong Kong, it is famous for its seafood market attracting many tourists to its restaurants. It has also become a major shipping port in Hong Kong, an important channel in the South China Sea. I asked the fishermen what they are expecting to fish, they laughed and said there is nothing in the sea anymore, that they are merely there to pass time. But what about the seafood market? They ship most of the seafood from elsewhere, one replied.

RECLAIM THE SEA!

The Central Reclamation Phase III Project in Hong Kong originally planned to reclaim 32 hectares of land, but has been reduced to 18 due to public opposition. Throughout history, numerous reclamation projects were undertaken at Victoria Habour, where this site is situated.
