James Harrison: a real life superhero

When I first came to hear about James I thought he must be on the dark side. No one could possibly be that good. There is a long list of what this boy has done – spending all his travel money at 21 to help an orphanage in Kenya, working at a homeless shelter since a teen and recruiting volunteers, reading to a blind girl on the weekends and saving the occasional damsel in distress…

Evans Wadongo - MwangaBora

Evans Wadongo is a 23 year old from rural Kenya. His invention, a solar-powered LED lantern, is replacing the smokey, hazardous kerosene lamps that are prevalent in Kenyan villages. Lamp production is funded by donations and is also sponsored by Sustainable Development for All-Kenya, a nonprofit group. The lamps are made from excess solar panel pieces that SDFA Kenya buys and scrap metal. Wadongo has named his lamp "MwangaBora" - "good light" in Kiswahili.
