A Bad Decision

When Bobby and his friends decided to play on the beach near the plastic factory, they were just looking for a nice afternoon. But when Bobby dove deep down into that murking water, with the liquid plastic by-products, his hair light up with a toxic light and his body started to ache. He shot to the surface of the ocean to escape, but then his face inflated and his teeth feel out. Bobby went to the hospital, and the doctor told him there was nothing he could do to repair the damage.

The area has become one of the most environmentally degraded areas of the country.

Afghan Water Sports

Afghan Water Sports (the real news) Final dispatch: 25 August, 2008 To the ones I love, It is 8.30pm and finally I have the office to myself to take a breath. Sorry for the group mail - but I do not have the energy to write individually. And it is perhaps one of my last 'dispatches' before I go. I leave in just under a week. And I leave with many mixed feelings this time around. The last three days have been very hard and it has been emotional for me; feelings compounded I think by the fact that I know that my time here is coming to an end.
