Underwater Jesus

Worship knows no boundaries – and nowhere is this more evident than with the various underwater Jesus statues – Christ of the Abyss – located around the world. The underwater Jesus statues, located in John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Florida, USA, the Tyrrhenian Sea near Giglio Island in Italy, and off the coast of St. George in the Caribbean, are popular diving attractions, but also draw people from around the world for underwater worship, marriage ceremonies, burials and annual religious processions.

Underwater Art Museum

Work on what will one day be the world’s largest underwater art museum is currently underway in Cancun, Mexico. British sculptor, Jason de Caires Taylor, creator of the world’s first underwater sculpture park in Grenada, West Indies, is now working on a 400 figure sculpture park to continue to raise awareness about the ocean health and create artificial reefs for marine life to inhabit.

Underwater Children

Underwater Children

Chasing, running
My feet are burning
The smoldering granules
I can see it
I can hear it pounding
The beating heart of the world

It hits me
The cool breath
I hear the babies behind me
We crash
Suspended in time

Nothing from our world matters
This world is different
Blameless
As innocent as we are
No hate
Just survival

My ears are bursting
White noise
Clear Blue
