James Harrison: a real life superhero

When I first came to hear about James I thought he must be on the dark side. No one could possibly be that good. There is a long list of what this boy has done – spending all his travel money at 21 to help an orphanage in Kenya, working at a homeless shelter since a teen and recruiting volunteers, reading to a blind girl on the weekends and saving the occasional damsel in distress…

It is frustrating knowing someone who truly lives by the superhero model code.

Dancing in Yunnan

I firmly believe that we learn a lot about a culture by the way various dances are performed and experienced within it. I found and joined a group of chinese people in the old town of Lijiang in the Yunnan province in china, dancing in an empty bar in the middle of the afternoon. Though this is a short clip, this group danced these same steps to various tunes for an hour.

sea letters

The sea, beautiful, alluring and powerful creature that she is, sometimes swallows ships and their passengers whole. These found bottles, lockets of last words, carried across waves by wind or carried reluctantly across the ocean floor by deep currents, harbor the hope that their authors last thoughts will not go unheard.. I have collected these bottles and documented them and the stories contained within. And now, with great care, I share them with you. I've limited names to their initials but, otherwise, kept the messages in tact.
