Forts on the Sea

During the Second World War, British Architect Guy Maunsell designed a series of seaborne forts that defended the Thames estuary against German bombers and mine-laying craft. Today, most of these towers are abandoned. One was the home to the famous Principality of Sealand.

Plans are underway to restore them as war museums, oceanographic research stations, luxury adventure hotels, or any combination of these.

Bravo!

Great story. Relics like this should be looked after preserved. This is definitely something I want to know more about!
