Global Punk

"Millions of lifestyles we can mix and match. Instead of being defined by your town or neighborhood as in premodernity, or belonging to a global monoculture as in moderism, postmodernity allows us to form borderless tribes - the Goth kid from Montreal recognizes his tribemates in San Francisco without ever having been there before." -Kevin Much- "We are not anti-social. We just take some punk ideas and adapt them to our lives. We want to escape from old social patterns. We believe in freedom, and as long as we believe, punk is still alive in us." -Mark, Thai-Punk- Photos: Bangkok, Thailand

Punk Dance Culture

It would be great to know more about the dance culture elements in the Punk scene. I can remember listening to tons of Ska music when I was growing up and skanking, which was a peculiar dance.

I would love to know more about these specific elements of the dance side of the culture. For example mosh pits in metal music and skanking in Ska Punk.
