I had the luck of phototgraphing Kim Petras, a young lady born in August 27, 1992, as a healthy baby boy. Now a successful pop star in Germany, she is the youngest person in that country to have had a sex-change operation.

During the summer of 2009, I followed the migration of thousands of young Russians who were going to dance at one of the musical festivals of the Crimea coast. They come to the Ukrainian beaches to celebrate hedonism, sun, music and vodka. These pictures document these teenagers on a trip to the disco and celebrating freedom. The darkness of the enviroment allowed me to capture each boys and girls as if they were isolated from the others. www.matthieuraffard.com
